CYPG consists of young professionals and recent graduates working in a wide range of industries and sectors, including legal, publishing, accountancy, property, construction and young entrepreneurs who live or work in and around Cambridge. It organises monthly drinks and events, providing members with a relaxed and welcoming environment to informally network and make new friends across the city. CYPG events so far have included curry night, a beginner’s guide to curling and pottery painting and prosecco, with many more to come!
Cambridge Network is a not-for-profit membership organisation, bringing people together from businesses and academia within the local ecosystem to share ideas, collaborate and network.
In addition to the vital importance of social connections, forging collaborations between people has been a key component in the success of Cambridge. Together we want to help young professionals to develop their own networks, with like-minded peers.
Abigail Reynolds, Chair of CYPG, commented “CYPG is delighted to be working alongside Cambridge Network to bring together the young professionals of Cambridge. With a growing trend of hybrid working and young professionals commuting into the city, it has never been more important to make connections, socially and professional, to establish a strong network for the future.”
John Gourd, CEO of Cambridge Network added “We’ re delighted to be working with CYPG and help them to extend the reach of their group to the 900 organisations that belong to our network. The nature of work has changed significantly since the Pandemic and we want to help young professionals expand their networks.”
Anyone interested in joining CYPG should visit the website at https://cypg.co.uk/ or email cyspg.org@gmail.com.
CYPG can also be found on LinkedIn as Cambridge Young Professionals Group (CYPG).
Events are posted on LinkedIn, the website and also sent out via email.
The next event is this month’s Thirsty Thursday, which will be held at the Cambridge Beer Festival! The event will take place on Thursday 23 May at 6pm at the Cambridge Beer Festival held on Jesus Green.
This is a great way to informally network with a range of young professionals in Cambridge, so please join CYPG and enjoy the 180+ real ales, 80+ ciders and perries, international beer, mead, wine, and cheese on offer.
CYPG will set up outside the main marquee, so look out for the banner when you come into the festival.
Entrance to the beer festival will cost £6 on the door (or is free if you are a CAMRA member).
The committee hopes to see you there!
