Overview
Line Managers / Supervisors / Team Leaders have a challenging time since they often feel under pressure from all sides; from their own team members, from more senior managers, as well as pressure from customers. Support to help them feel more confident in their ability to manage, encourage and inspire others is therefore of paramount importance – especially when managing both in-office and remote staff.
This online two half-day workshop is designed to capture the key knowledge and skills required to manage effectively in a full or partially remote-working environment. Within this blended style of remote working staff need: empathy, motivation, guidance and delegation, and in many cases careful performance management.
Key Outcomes
As a result of attending we expect delegates to:
Understand what is expected at this level:
mix of management / technical / leadership / administration / etc.
Manage themselves from a time/stress focussed perspective
Be able to get things done by delegating and setting expectations of their staff
Develop their own personal coaching / communication style
Be able to motivate and inspire others to deliver by:
giving effective feedback and managing performance (face-face and online)
running an effective performance review (face-face and online)
dealing with difficult situations by defusing conflict situations (face-face/online)
Understand the importance of reporting ‘upwards’ with effective management data
Managing all of this remotely versus face-to-face
Methodology
The training adopts experiential-based and delegate-centred approach to training. We believe that learning is not only about acquiring technical skills, it is also about developing behaviours that are desirable in a business environment.
To enhance learning outcomes, sessions will comprise theory input interspersed with discussions, scenario-based case-study and PowerPoint slides. Outcomes are focussed on the delegate’s own business and how they can apply what they learn back at work.
