Music Therapy with Dementia

Izzy Swinhoe-Standen is a music therapist with a specific interest in dementia. She has worked in various settings including care homes, and with individuals as well as with open and closed groups. She is an ARU alumni with a BSs and MA in Music Therapy. In this event Izzy defines music therapy, specifically with regards to the effects of music therapy in patients with dementia.

In this event Izzy defines music therapy, specifically with regards to the effects of music therapy in patients with dementia. She gives examples of work with clients and provide an overview of research in this area. During the event Izzy will invite you to take part in a short example session to experience music therapy in practice. However, there is no obligation to participate, if you prefer you can just watch.
