Practical Essentials of GC Detectors

This is module 5 of the Complete GC & GC-MS and covers detectors used in gas chromatography, discussing a variety of universal and specific detectors and the considerations when selecting a GC detector for a particular application.

This course has been approved by the Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC) for purposes of Continuing Professional Development (CPD).

This 1.5 hour module is taught live in a virtual classroom, is fully interactive with instrument parts and consumables shown & explained. There are small group sizes so plenty of opportunities to ask questions then get them answered on screen!

This module identifies the different considerations when selecting a GC detector for a particular application and provides a brief introduction into many types of universal and selective detectors used in gas chromatography. The course covers in detail Flame ionisation (FID), electron capture (ECD) and thermal conductivity (TCD) detectors.
