Wellbeing Together Training - 3rd November 2021

Wellbeing Together training will provide volunteers and community workers with the knowledge and skills to enable them to support others in the community to look after their mental health (delivered by Living Sport in partnership with CPSL Mind).

The training will be a series of modules run during the day between November 2021 and January 2022 (more details in full information about the course).

This is an innovative new community training programme, delivered through a partnership with Living Sport and CPSL Mind. The training will be delivered online through a series of webinars and peer support sessions during the daytime (see specific times below). The programme’s aim is to equip volunteers and community workers with the knowledge and skills to enable them to support others in the community to look after their mental health and know how to access further help when needed.

Key outcomes – the training will enable people to:

  • Break the stigma that still exists by having positive conversations about mental health.
  • Recognise that we all have mental health and all have the potential to experience tough times.
  • Understand that we are not defined by our mental health; we all have strengths that we can use and the potential to have a good life.
  • Know that being part of a connected community is very beneficial for our mental health.
  • Know that there are steps that we can take to look after our wellbeing and mental health.
  • Know where and how to access local support for mental health and wellbeing.
  • Know how to look after your own wellbeing whilst supporting others.

The programme consists of 5 elements:

Module 1: Introduction to Mental Health Webinar (1hr) – To be viewed individually before Module 2.

Module 2: Wednesday 3rd November 10.00am – 12.30pm - Positive Conversations and Wellbeing Plans Workshop (2.5 hours).

Module 3: Wednesday 10th November 10.00am– 12.00 noon - Stop Suicide Workshop (2 hours).

Module 4: Wednesday 17th November 10.00am – 12 noon - Putting it into Practice and Signposting Resources (2 hours).

Three Peer Support sessions following on from the training (3 sessions, 1.5 hours per session) dates as follows:

Peer support 1 – Wednesday 8th December 10.00am to 11.30am

Peer support 2 – Wednesday 5th January 10.00am to 11.30am

Peer support 3 – Wednesday 26th January 10.00am to 11.30am

Participants signing up to the full training programme will be required to attend all 5 elements of the training as detailed above.  Please note that this is a pilot project and we have a limited number of 16 places per cohort, therefore we are limiting the number of delegates to a maximum of two individuals per organisation.
