The course will look at the characteristics of the absorption of various compounds and review the different components of FTIR and factors affecting spectral quality and mixtures. You will learn about the various sample preparation techniques and analysis techniques for absorbance, transmittance and reflectance.
The hands-on practicals will look at the analysis of samples by FTIR and analysing the data. This will reinforce the knowledge gained in the areas of method creation, sample analysis and data analysis.
