With the festive season approaching, Millrose is embracing the spirit of giving in a unique and meaningful way. Instead of sending out traditional Christmas cards this year, we have decided to redirect our budget to support a local initiative that truly embodies the essence of the season - the Ely Community Christmas Lunch.
A Festive Mission of Inclusivity
The Ely Community Christmas Lunch team is gearing up to provide festive meals for our community this year, and their mission is all about inclusivity. They warmly invite anyone who may be spending Christmas Day on their own or experiencing financial difficulties to join in the celebration.
The Ely Community Christmas Lunch will be serving up classic turkey dinners with all the trimmings at three venues in Ely. The Lighthouse Church, Ely Methodist Church, and The Cathedral’s Almonry Restaurant will simultaneously offer these delicious feasts, prepared by a professional chef and served by dedicated volunteers. The team do their very best to ensure that everyone at their sit-down meals has a happy time with a warm welcome, live music, plentiful food, a visit from Father Christmas and a goody bag to take home.
Christmas Delivered to Doorsteps
Also, recognising that not everyone can make it to the venues, the Ely Community Christmas Lunch team is also happy to bring the festive spirit to doorsteps, delivering, for free, Christmas meals to people at home in the Ely area.
Make Someone's Christmas Special with a Donation
If you'd like to make someone's Christmas extra special, you have the option to donate £10, which helps cover the cost of a meal for those who may be facing financial challenges. Your contribution goes a long way in spreading warmth and happiness during the festive season.
This Christmas, Millrose is honoured to sponsor Christmas Day meals for 25 people in our community this year. We believe that it's the little acts of kindness that truly define the Christmas spirit and, well, we would much rather buy meals for people than postage stamps. By choosing to support the Ely Community Christmas Lunch, Millrose aims to make Christmas a little brighter for those who may be spending Christmas Day alone or facing financial difficulties.
