IfM Engage works with companies, policymakers and other universities to put new ideas coming out of the Institute for Manufacturing into practice. We do this through consultancy, executive and professional education, events and open courses. 

 

We are currently looking for an experienced administrator, with excellent organisational and customer skills, to support the Solution development team to deliver consultancy activities based around IfM offerings. Working in a friendly, innovative and dynamic environment, the role will interact with the internal team, academic and associate communities.

Role Summary

 

Planning and co-ordinating client consultancy engagements

Supporting IfM Engage consultancy QA processes

Creating a library of supporting materials for IfM tools, including references, academic papers and case studies

Collecting and consolidating data across different projects to create, maintain and manage a database of trends, drivers and capabilities

Working with the team, researchers and Third Party Associates to facilitate communities of practice

 

 

Reporting and Support

 

  • Reports to: Project and Operations Manager
  • Is supervised by: Head of Solution Development

 

Will be based primarily in the Institute for Manufacturing, Alan Reece Building, Charles Babbage Road, Cambridge. Some home/hybrid working may be available on request. The salary for this role is £28,000-30,000 per annum full-time equivalent pro-rata

Duties and Responsibilities

 

Time

Consultancy project support

Working closely with the Solution Development team to understand support requirements for client projects

Meeting and interview arrangement with clients and workshop delegates

Preparing slide decks and templates

Preparation of printed materials and post-its (for any in-person workshops)

Communication of pre-work to workshop participants and response collection and consolidation.

Technical support for online workshops. Management of digital spaces via Zoom and MS Teams and collaboration tools e.g. Miro boards

Management of transcription of workshop outputs

Proofreading and formatting client reports, managing file copies of reports

Support with the development of case studies using marketing templates

Quality Assurance

Supporting consultancy QA processes, ensuring data is collected quickly and captured accurately

Working with the Project and Operations Manager to report quality data to the Board

Information management

Information management, including updating, managing and maintaining a library of supporting materials for IfM tools and approaches, including references, academic papers and case studies

Trends and drivers

Data collection and consolidation across different projects to create, maintain and manage a database of trends, drivers and capabilities

Supporting the Community

Work with the team, researchers and Third party associates to facilitate communities of practice, including arranging and attending consultancy meetings and ensuring relevant actions are completed.

Qualifications

  • Degree in a relevant subject or equivalent experience

  • Experience in the manufacturing sector
