Finance Manager (Maternity Cover, 12 Month FTC)

Job summary

We are looking for a Finance Manager to join our HQ based in Cambridge to support and lead the finance team on a 12 month FTC basis.  This is an exciting opportunity to lead a talented team of 5 who are responsible for transaction processing and financial accounting in the UK

Key Responsibilities:

  • Own the financial ledger of the UK legal entities in compliance with Group Accounting Policy and local tax codes, government regulations and filing requirements
  • Ensure compliance with all Group policies and procedures
  • Maintain a strong controls environment
  • Support and managing teams involvement in audit processes (internal and external audits, HMRC audits)
  • Coordination of monthly close activities, ensuring accuracy of figures and timely delivery of results for group reporting
  • Support in designing and implementing process improvements, working closely with wider global finance teams to ensure efficiency and consistency of processes across the Group.
  • Conduct regular balance sheet and P&L reviews and variance analyses in line with Group policies and processes
  • Compliance with local tax requirements (e.g. VAT, sales tax, PAYE, PSA, withholding tax)
  • Cash management, including completion of cash flow projections for group reporting, proposals for internal cash transfers and foreign currency exchanges and authorisation of payments on the banking portal.
  • Support in planning of strategic project implementation and provide input on impact of projects on the financial processing and reporting.
  • Other duties as determined by the Group Financial Controller

About you

  • Qualified or qualified by experience accountant with experience as a Financial Controller
  • Experience managing a team of individuals
  • Highly accurate and good attention to detail in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to prioritise and make recommendations as required
  • Experience of Microsoft Office with strong knowledge of Excel
  • Microsoft Dynamics AX experience would be desirable
  • External audit experience
