Community, Outreach and Representation Coordinator

It's an exciting time to join the team at ARU Writtle Students' Union! Due to the expansion of the team, we're recruiting a Community, Outreach and Representation Coordinator. In this role, you'll be the first point of contact for our students on the Writtle campus. You'll be supporting students to set up activities, as well as overseeing the recognition and celebration of student participation. In addition, you'll coordinate the election, training, and ongoing support of student representatives.

 

What you'll be doing:

  • Working in partnership with the ARUSU Engagement Team, administer and support the organisation of the elections processes for all representative positions as required on the ARU Writtle campus, including the induction and training of elected Officers.
  • Providing comprehensive support to the Vice President (ARU Writtle) to engage the Writtle student population effectively through a variety of means ensuring that all student groups, including traditionally under- represented groups have a voice.
  • Project managing and delivering our annual SU awards, encouraging engagement from students to recognise the efforts of both students and university staff.
  • Creating and supporting sustainable, targeted student-led groups on the ARU Writtle campus based on student feedback.
  • Supports students to access ARU services including SU advice.

What we're looking for:

  • Experience of working in a similar role in a membership organisation
  • Building relationships with a diverse range of personnel and stakeholders
  • Experience and understanding of customer service

  • Ability to coordinate and deliver events
  • Patience, enthusiasm, ability to motivate others
  • Excellent communication skills

ARU Students’ Union represents students at ARU across campuses in Cambridge, Chelmsford, Peterborough, Writtle and London. In addition, we provide a range of services; academic and welfare advice, support to students running societies and volunteering opportunities in and around the campuses. Whilst we play an important student representative role that sometimes sees us challenge the University, we work closely with them and support areas of delivery within their strategy.
