About the role

Webtec has an exciting opportunity for a Mechanical Project Engineer to work in Engineering R&D.

Your primary role will involve the mechanical design and management of projects, working as part of a multi-disciplined team of engineers. This is a ‘hands on role’ where you will contribute a mechanical and hydraulic specialty to the wider team.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Research and specify new products to add to the Webtec range
  • Complete the detailed design of your core discipline to your projects and to other projects as needed.
  • Liaise with external suppliers to enable the procurement of components for development and production purposes.
  • Complete the roll out of new products including the introduction into manufacturing and training of sales force.

Ideally you will possess:

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering subject or equivalent
  • 3D modelling and computer-aided design skills preferably using SolidWorks
  • Interpret engineering drawings used for part manufacture
  • Good verbal and written communications skills
  • Organised (good time management) and methodical with attention to detail
  • Research, analytical, conceptual, and planning skills
  • Hydraulics certification – e.g.NFPC stage 1 (desirable)

Experience of using a manufacturing system (ERP/MRP) to input and maintain data would be beneficial together with knowledge of the ISO9000 quality system. We have a strong focus on increasing the skills and knowledge of our Team and so suitable additional training will be provided.

 

Hours

The company works a five-day 39-hour week.

Hours between 8:00 to 17.00 Monday to Thursday and 8:00 to 16.00 on Friday. Times include half an hour or one- hour unpaid break.

This is a permanent on-site role, however exact working hours are open for discussion.
