Principal Accountabilities of the role:
The role reports to the Group Planning Business Insights Director and will primarily be responsible for:
Providing Insight, expertise and analysis to help drive and shape the commercial performance of AstraZeneca
Being the expert for a specific commercial unit within the Group Finance team, acting as the link between the commercial unit and the Group function
Ensuring that key planning assumptions and drivers of performance for your commercial unit are understood, bringing constructive challenge to forecasts, planning assumptions and resource allocation based on credible insights, intelligence & analysis
Preparing stretching but attainable targets that align to the Enterprise’s strategic and financial objectives
Proactively identifying, collating and analysing a range of financial and non-financial data to develop a deep understanding of the drivers of performance and key emerging trends impacting our Rare Diseases business
Developing strong relationships with the embedded functional FP&A contacts in order to refine your understanding whilst bringing constructive challenge to forecasts, assumptions and resource allocation based on credible insights, intelligence & analysis
Managing a range of other ad-hoc requests in support of the CEO and SET/Board reporting
Identifying and acting on continuous improvement opportunities in GFP&A processes, performance and reporting
Candidate Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
Analytical Finance Professional with the ability to deliver succinct, high impact briefing material suitable for SET / Board level audiences
Experience of Commercial Finance and/or FP&A, preferably within a pharmaceutical business
Finance/Business qualification e.g. Qualified ACA/ACCA/CIMA/MBA
Excellent academic record
Proactive and delivery focused, comfortable working in a dynamic, challenging environment
Strong systems skills; advanced Microsoft Excel & PowerPoint, knowledge of Hyperion Planning would also be advantageous
Well-developed influencing skills with the ability to drive bigger picture thinking
Energetic, resilient and tenacious
Excellent influencing and communication skills with the confidence to engage senior stakeholders
Good networking and relationship building skills
