We work extensively across a wide range of sectors, and we are looking for a Head of Learning and Development to lead the team and work strategically with the business.

Role Overview

The Head of Learning & Development leads the L&D team and all activities across Cambridge Consultants globally with responsibility for the strategic and operational delivery of L&D activities, ensuring that the team has what it requires to provide a professional, effective, and responsive service.

In leading the team, you will provide best practice and external knowledge, balance providing the strategic direction for the team alongside hands-on operational involvement. You will demonstrate experience for providing pragmatic and realistic solutions by using your breadth of experience.

This is a UK based role in Cambridge. However, support to our offices in the US, Singapore and Tokyo will be required. 

Specific responsibilities

  • Core member of the Global HR Leadership Team to collectively develop the Global People strategy and lead workstreams / initiatives to successfully implement.
  • Act as a strategic and trusted learning business partner to key stakeholders and leaders within the business to guide, advise and develop learning initiatives
  • Lead a L&D team to develop and deliver a successful L&D plan and training offer
  • Deliver a comprehensive core learning offer to enable the development of all employees within the business
  • Create, lead and drive successful Leadership, Management and Commercial development offer to further upskill existing professionals and develop those currently outside of these career paths
  • Work closely with HR Leadership Team to develop a Talent Management programme and create development opportunities as part of the programme
  • Deliver a range of change management activities and enable the development, learning and engagement required for those to be successful
  • Work closely with key stakeholders to develop individual development plans and opportunities for specific individuals or groups
  • Upskill large parts of the organisation to develop personal and technical skills and knowledge based on business and market demand
  • Understand the key business priorities and challenges in order to shape an effective learning offer
  • Utilise the data available to understand challenges, priorities, and further initiatives.
  • Provide thought leadership for employee and organisation development activities
  • Responsibility and accountability for the core global learning budget

 

Minimum requirements

  • Exceptional leadership skills with proven ability to motivate, develop and inspire people to create a successful high performing team
  • Experience in leading a learning or talent development function working with internal stakeholders in a matrix environment
  • Experience with developing, embedding and improving Management and Leadership Programmes
  • Ability to understand the business requirements with the confidence and ability to appropriately challenge and navigate differing opinions
  • Identify creative solutions with the ability to deliver successful outcomes
  • Engage and influence stakeholders to ensure initiatives are adopted and embedded within the organisation
  • Has experience of talent development programmes and creating development plans as a result
  • Highly developed influencing skills, able to listen and influence, persuade and challenge through weight of reasoning and gravitas rather than through a direct reporting line
