International Student Administrator (Part Time)

This role is part time, FTE 0.4.

The International Student Office provides specialist support services to the University's international students and administers student mobility activity.

We are seeking a highly motivated individual to join a small team of administrators whose role is to support a range of activities undertaken by the office as outlined in the key responsibilities. The International Student Administrator will be allocated specific duties from these key responsibilities and will be expected to contribute to the effective running of the office.

The International Student Administrator will be expected to contribute to ensuring effective service delivery and achieving the team's overall objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Visa advice: Provide visa advice to prospective and current students, and their dependant family members, by email, in appointments and via workshops and webinars
  • Immigration Compliance: Administer student immigration compliance activities
  • Mobility programmes: Administer the funding process for the Turing Scheme and related mobility programmes
  • Visiting students: Provide guidance to Faculties / Departments on visiting student activity
  • Funding awards: Assist with administration of the Kurt Hahn Trust and Smuts Memorial Fund
  • Contributing to international student matters: Contribute to pre and post arrival support for international students
  • Procedure improvements: Contribute to continuous improvement of office procedures and systems

  • Educated to degree standard or with the skills and attributes equivalent to those expected of a graduate
  • Effective interpersonal skills including the ability to present information clearly and succinctly
  • Excellent IT skills
  • Ability to understand and apply policy and ensure procedures are compliant with relevant requirements
  • Competent financial administration skills
  • Experience of providing accurate, responsive and timely administrative services
  • Effective interpersonal skills including the ability to present information clearly and succinctly
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to prioritise and manage workload to meet deadlines
