Are you a talented Software Engineer looking to work on cutting-edge projects?
A long established, and relatively small, Cambridge-based technology consultancy are
seeking experienced Software Engineers to join our dynamic team. We specialise in
embedded electronics and software development, delivering innovative solutions to a
diverse client base.

Your Role:
As an engineer in our team, you will be at the forefront of developing embedded
software for a variety of projects, from early-stage prototyping to production-ready
designs. Your expertise will be instrumental in creating robust and efficient solutions that
meet our clients' demanding requirements.
As a consultancy we use a wide range of technologies and can offer the right
candidates highly varied work and visibility across the full development process – from
concept to volume manufacture.

Key Responsibilities:

  •  Design, develop, and test embedded software primarily using C/C++ for bare metal microcontrollers and embedded Linux
  •  Work with a range of technologies and programming languages, including Python, Bash, AWS IoT, and others
  • Collaborate with clients and internal teams to understand project needs and deliver exceptional results
  •  Contribute to a positive and collaborative working environment within our multidisciplinary team

Key requirements:

  •  Minimum 5 years of commercial software development experience
  • Strong proficiency in C programming
  •  Extensive experience with embedded Linux
  •  Solid understanding of embedded software development principles and best practices
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  •  Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Advantageous experience:

  •  Low level software debugging with debuggers, logic analysers, oscilloscopes, etc
  •  Embedded video and audio capture with Linux
  •  Small microcontrollers (e.g. STM32, MSP430, etc.)
  •  FreeRTOS
  •  DevOps including continuous development, integration, and test automation
  •  Cloud platforms (especially AWS IoT)
  •  Website implementation and mobile app experience
  •  Safety critical software
  •  Cellular and WiFi communications
