Learning FAQ

General Questions

What is the difference between an open course and an in-house course?

Spaces on our open courses are available to anyone from any organisation and the general public. They are held at a prearranged venue and scheduled on specific dates for participants to join based on their availability. The price for open courses is per person.

In-house courses are booked by an individual organisation to train only their employees. They are delivered at the organisation’s premises or online depending on preference. The content of in-house courses is more customisable to address the specific learning needs of the organisation. The price for most of our in-house courses is a flat rate rather than per person. It usually becomes more cost effective to run an in-house course instead of sending learners onto an open course when there are over 4 people who require the training.

What types of training do you offer?

We offer a wide range of professional training and development programmes, specialising in soft skills workshops, management development courses and technical training. Our pool of experienced facilitators also offer coaching and mentoring services.

Do you offer virtual training?

All of our open courses are held in person, in Cambridge. When booked in-house, almost all of our courses can be delivered virtually, as well as in-person.

Can I get a certificate for attending the course?

Yes, certificates are available on request for any of our courses whether completed via our open calendar or in-house.

Open Courses

How do I book onto an open course?

Find the course you are interested in from the course list, and click on the most convenient date option on the right hand side of the webpage.  If you are a member, the member discount will automatically be applied when you are logged in. You can choose between paying by card or invoice. If you need help, or do not have a website login, please email learning@cambridgenetwork.co.uk.

How do I book other people onto a course?

You can book multiple people onto a course in a single booking through the website.  When you have logged in and selected the desired course, there is a box where you can select how many places you need. You can also book by emailing learning@cambridgenetwork.co.uk. In your email, please include the name and date of the course on which you want to book participants, as well as each participant’s full name and email address.

How much do your courses cost?

All of our pricing information for our open calendar courses can be found on the course webpages. If you have any questions regarding in-house programme prices and you cannot find it on our website, please email learning@cambridgenetwork.co.uk.

How do I make sure my membership discount is applied?

As long as you are logged in and connected to your company, the member discount will automatically be applied.  If you are not sure this is the case, please email learning@cambridgenetwork.co.uk.

I have a special diet. Can you accommodate it?

Yes, please detail your requirements on the booking form, or email us directly. Our catering team will ensure that suitable accommodations are made.

I can’t make that date, when will you run this course again?

We run most courses every few months and will include additional dates if there is a significant amount of interest in a particular course. Please email learning@cambridgenetwork.co.uk to be put on the waitlist for future dates.

I can no longer attend the course I booked. Can I move my booking?

Courses can be cancelled with no charge up to 30 days before the course date.  After this date, the booking cannot be cancelled. However, we usually allow spaces to be transferred to another individual within your organisation if we are provided with sufficient notice.

Will there be parking?

There is free onsite parking for all delegates on our open courses.

I have mobility issues. Can I get to the course?

Yes, our training venue is fully accessible. Please ensure this request is included at the time of booking so we can arrange alternative parking for you.

In-House Courses

Can you customise your courses to fit our organisation’s needs?

We understand that every organisation has unique training requirements. Our team can work closely with you to tailor the course content so that it aligns with your objectives and industry standards. Please email learning@cambridgenetwork.co.uk to discuss your needs.

Can you provide longer training programmes?

Yes, we frequently design and deliver extended training programs. We currently have ongoing training initiatives within many of our larger member organisations, usually specialising in soft skills development and management training.

What industries do you specialise in for training?

We provide tailored training for all industries including science and engineering, manufacturing, local government, legal, IT and telecoms, healthcare, life sciences, finance, and education.

How much does customised training cost?

The content of our courses can be tweaked at no additional cost. If you require a completely new course or significant modifications to an existing one, a development fee may apply. This fee covers the additional time needed for our facilitators to design and implement the changes.

Can we incorporate our organisations policies and procedures into the training?

Yes, your policies, procedures, and real-world case studies can be incorporated into the training to ensure that learning is directly applicable to your team’s day-to-day tasks.
