This is the fourth year running that 42 Technology has offered industrial placements through the Year in Industry Scheme run by Engineering Development Trust, as well as to students applying directly. All students work in specific client project teams, helping to solve engineering and technical challenges and gaining invaluable commercial experience. They are also mentored to support their work, future study, and career choices.
When asked for feedback on his experience at 42 Technology, Josh Maynard who completed his placement in 2013 said:
“Now that I am at Imperial College [studying mechanical engineering], I have seen real benefits to working in a consultancy such as 42 Technology. The breadth and depth of my general engineering experience is matched only by those on my course who worked for other consultancies. I was involved in such a diverse range of projects across a wide range of engineering disciplines, and the experience has helped me to secure other job offers and has certainly encouraged me towards a career in engineering.”
42 Technology’s new students replace Dominic Roe, Alex Turner and Chris Nightingale, who have all worked on some of the consultancy’s largest client projects and are due to start at university in September.
