RealVNC proud sponsors of local Cambridge festival

15-07-2010

RealVNC has become the major sponsor of this year’s Cambridge Shakespeare Festival, cementing the Company’s commitment to supporting the local community.

The Cambridge Shakespeare Festival is the UK’s best-loved open-air Shakespeare festival attracting over 25,000 visitors, both nationally and internationally.

The Festival takes place over eight weeks with performances of Love’s Labour’s Lost, Hamlet, The Taming of the Shrew, As You Like It, Twelfth Night and Henry V. The Festival runs from July 12th to 28th August 2010 and tickets can be bought online at http://www.cambridgeshakespeare.com/

Special charity matinee performances of each production will be taking place in loving memory of Margaret Elizabeth Crilly. Money raised from these special performances will go to support the Children’s Hospice in Milton and St. Johns Hospice on the Wirral.

“RealVNC is very active in the local community, supporting local events, charities and small businesses” says Lily Bacon, VP Sales & Marketing, “We are delighted to sponsor the CSF in what has become a firm fixture in the Cambridge cultural calendar.”

“The CSF is a self-funded and charitable event” says David Crilly, Artistic Director, “Without help and sponsorship we would be unable to deliver such an ambitious programme, and this promises to be our best year yet! Our grateful thanks go to RealVNC.”

About the Cambridge Shakespeare Festival

The UK's best-loved open-air Shakespeare Festival brings high-class theatre to some of Cambridge's most timeless and magical College Garden venues. Now in it's 23rd year, the Times Literary Supplement recently described the Festival as one of the finest events of its kind in the country. The Festival has become a significant cultural event in the region and can expect to attract upwards of 25,000 visitors for the productions which run during the eight weeks of the Festival.

The productions themselves are vivid and spectacular, and are performed in full period costume with live Elizabethan music. Imperceptibly the evening passes from a glorious summer evening to dusk and then to night. The moon rises to provide additional lighting in a way that no theatre could match. The festival runs from 12th July until 28th August.
