Sky Commuter launches service between Cambridge and Oxford

Sky Commuter, a member company of the Nutricius Group with over 20 years experience in corporate aviation, has announced it will be operating a chain of niche and high profile scheduled services.

The first of these will be between the two university towns of Cambridge and Oxford with the inaugural flight on the 1st February 2006.

Sky Commuter has identified a strong demand for the operation of this route, and in conjunction with Cambridge City Airport and Oxford Airport, will demonstrate how all corporate and academic travel can be served in a more timely, reliable and cost effective way than current road or rail alternatives.

With the recent announcement of rail price increases for the New Year, the price of 99 return immediately shows how the Sky Commuter way is more economical than many current commuter options. The twice-daily, 22 minute service will permit corporate and academic travellers to day-return and save almost five hours compared to travel by road or rail, or several hundred pounds in overnight stays.

Nick Rowley, CEO, says 'From personal experience it is clear that simple travel within the UK is becoming more and more complex and more and more time consuming, even on many regional and low-cost airlines.

'Sky Commuter takes the best elements from both private and corporate air travel allowing customers minimum check-in times, parking immediately outside the terminal, and a courteous service from ground and air crew. Our goal is to put the enjoyment and excitement back into air travel at an acceptable price.'

Bookings can be made securely online already at, or through the reservations line on 0700 638 0 638.

David Buckley, Director Cambridge City Airport says: 'There is a very clear demand for regular flights between Oxford and Cambridge, because of the inadequacy of surface transport on this route. Cambridge City Airport, which is a particularly well equipped regional airport, serving the greater part of East Anglia, is poised to assist Sky Commuter in this exciting new venture'.
