On Tuesday 14th February, HRH The Duke of Kent visited the headquarters of leading inkjet manufacturer, Xaar, on behalf of the Queen.
Xaar hosts tour for HRH the Duke of Kent
HRH The Duke of Kent was accompanied by his private secretary and the Lord Lieutenant of Cambridgeshire, Hugh Duberley Esq. for a tour of the Cambridge facility.
The visit was in recognition of Xaar's success in winning the prestigious Queen's Award for Enterprise in 2005.
Xaar's CEO, Mr Ian Dinwoodie hosted the tour where HRH was introduced to the company's executive team as well as other employees during a tour of the hi-tech laboratories and pilot line.
Mr Dinwoodie commented, 'It was an honour to receive HRH The Duke of Kent and his party to Xaar, and to introduce them to the technology and personnel behind our success. Our recently announced 2005 figures once again demonstrate how we have translated innovative technology ideas into strong and profitable growth.'
Xaar won the Queen's Award for Enterprise, Innovation category, in recognition of the ongoing developments and global success of its patented piezoelectric inkjet technology, now recognised as a mainstream printing technology.
