Transforming the way people use and enjoy multimedia projectors, InFocus Corporation (NASDAQ: INFS) has developed two new projector series that incorporate DisplayLink's USB graphics connection technology.
DisplayLink technology powers new InFocus multimedia projectors
The next-generation projection systems – the InFocus® IN3100 series and IN1100 series – are the first multimedia projectors to embed DisplayLink innovations, which allow people to easily project videos, PowerPoints and pictures with the simple snap of a USB connection.
Convenient "connect and display" capabilities ensure that educators, financial analysts, advertisers, sales staff and other business professionals can stop worrying about laptop-to-projector setup issues and start their meetings and presentations stress-free. The technology makes life simpler and more productive for both professionals and commercial AV experts.
"Together, we've tapped the power of USB to simplify the digital projection experience – delivering both flawless image transmission and practically instant connection," said Hamid Farzaneh, DisplayLink president and CEO. "The new InFocus projectors are an exceptional addition to the lineup of monitors, docks and USB graphics adapters that use our connection technology too."
"By combining InFocus's expertise in projection with DisplayLink's skills in USB-connectivity, we've developed industry-leading products that make projection more user-friendly," said Bob O'Malley, InFocus CEO. "Our intent is to eliminate the frustration users associate with projector set-up."
All of the new projector models include DisplayLink's Auto Install feature, which automatically puts the right software directly onto laptops when they are plugged into the projector. No fiddling with "function keys" is ever required to make a presentation work properly. And, with the multi-display capabilities of DisplayLink's technology, people can operate multiple projectors and show multiple presentations from just a single USB connection and single computer – bringing a whole new level of productivity and simplicity to busy multimedia professionals.
In addition to easy USB connectivity, the InFocus IN3100 series of multimedia projectors provides the high performance of 3000 to 3500 lumens with a 2000:1 contrast ratio and high resolution. The InFocus IN1100 series of digital projectors provides 2000 Max ANSI lumens with an 1800:1 contrast ratio for bright, crisp images. Weighing just 2.7 pounds, the IN1100 series is designed for portability and mobility.
The InFocus IN3100 series starts at $1,499 and is available June 30. Starting at $1,099, the IN1100 series will be available Aug. 8. Both products will be sold through systems integrators, resellers and other channel partners.
