Honorary Air Commodore Michael Marshall CBE DL will be presenting an Active Service Medal to Flight Sergeant Jon Land of No.7010 Squadron of the Royal Auxiliary Air Force this Wednesday (9 July).
Medal presentation to Marshall employee for Afghanistan operations
Jon Land, an engineer working in the Aircraft Design Office at Marshall Aerospace, who is a former regular member of the Royal Air Force, currently serves in his spare time as a member of the Royal Auxiliary Air Force and earlier this year spent four months in Afghanistan on active operations. In his primary job within Marshall Aerospace Jon works as a Training Coordinator and as a Training Manager for Marshall Aerospace’s Graduate Trainees.
Chairman and Chief Executive of Marshall Aerospace, Michael Marshall CBE DL is also a member of the Royal Auxiliary Air Force, serving as Honorary Air Commodore of No. 2623 Squadron Royal Air Force Regiment at Royal Air Force Honnington.
Marshall of Cambridge has supported the Territorial and Reserve Forces for a large number of years and Mr Michael Marshall said ‘The Auxiliary Forces play an important part in day to day operations in Iraq and Afghanistan and it gives me enormous pride to be able to hand over the medal awarded to Jon Land for his service in Afghanistan.'
