DisplayLink and LG further expand reach of multi-monitor computing with new 22in display

11-07-2008

DisplayLink and LG today announced the availability of a new 22 inch LCD USB monitor with integrated DisplayLink technology.

This new addition to LG’s product portfolio, the LG Windows Vista compatible L226WU-PF, uses DisplayLink’s DL-160 network display device and software technology to enable up to six extra screens to be connected to any PC or laptop via a standard USB 2.0 connection. DisplayLink’s technology can also be found in LG’s 20” FlatronWide L206WU model. The L226WU-PF will be marketed first in Europe.

LG is a leading global provider of LCD monitors in the digital display sector, and this latest collaboration with multi-monitor specialist DisplayLink signifies its commitment to developing next-generation technologies. DisplayLink’s award winning plug-and-play technology allows exceptional performance across multiple screens with the simplicity that users associate with USB. With built-in auto-install software, the L226WU-PF includes a widescreen panel supporting a 1680 x 1050 resolution, a 1000:1 contrast ratio, and a five millisecond response time.

“We’re thrilled that LG is rapidly expanding its line of USB connected displays in partnership with DisplayLink,” said Hamid Farzaneh, president and CEO at DisplayLink. “In-Stat research projects that USB network displays will exceed 26 million units and 40 million units in 2010 and in 2011 respectively, and LG is among the key forward-thinking display companies leading this major paradigm shift.”
