Golfers will be excited to hear East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH) has launched the EACH Summer Matchplay, in partnership with Competition Golf.
Golf tournament to drive forward EACH fundraising efforts
EACH has partnered with the company that specialises in technology for the golf industry to create its very own fundraising tournament.
Rich Blount Director of Competiton Golf said: “We’re very proud to have just launched our matchplay fundraising initiative in the market. This is a new way of running a matchplay knockout competition as golfers enjoy getting back on the course. It’s an online management system that lets people play either locally or nationally whilst observing social distancing guidelines. We’re very proud to be partnering with EACH to run their first ever knockout competition.”
Becky Redbond, EACH Events Fundraising Manager, said: “We’re excited to see a more sociable side to our fundraisers creep back in. Players will be out in the sunshine, competing against another pair, so plenty of room for social distancing measures to be abided by.”
To enter the tournament you will need to be in a pair and registered before midnight on Friday 10th July. A random draw will take place where one team is selected as the home team before competing pairs arrange to meet at the home teams golf course. The winners will go through to the next round, whilst the losers are eliminated. Entry is £40 per pair, with prizes still to be announced up for grabs.
EACH supports around 450 families of children and young people with life-threatening conditions, including around 100 bereaved families, at any one time. The relies on voluntary donations for the majority of its income and has taken a considerable hit in funding as a result of the COVID-10 pandemic, with shops closed and fundraising events postponed or cancelled.
East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH) aims to maximise the quality of life for children and young people with a life-limiting or life-threatening condition, and to support their families.
