East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH) is asking people to take part in a virtual egg hunt this Easter and help reassure families the vital care and support they need will be there throughout the rest of the pandemic and beyond.

The last year of disruption to traditional fundraising activities and shops has seen EACH take a hit to the voluntary income it relies on, leaving the charity in need of more financial support than ever before.

Those who take part in EACH’s new virtual Easter activity are able to buy any eggs they find and leave personal messages, as well as upload photos.

Tim Jenkins, EACH Acting Community Fundraising Manager, said: “This is the first time we’ve run a virtual Easter egg hunt and we hope everyone will enjoy this new activity. We always receive overwhelming support from people wanting to donate chocolate eggs around this time of year. Unfortunately, visiting the hospices remains restricted and many families continue to shield at home, so we hope putting the pennies normally spent on chocolate towards our virtual egg hunt will be a fun alternative.

“Many of the families who access our service say they couldn’t imagine life without it, so after a year that has seen our voluntary income take a hit, paying for the gift of care – more important than ever right now as families become exhausted from shielding – is by far the best way to show your support this Easter.”

The virtual Easter egg hunt begins tomorrow (Friday12 March) and there is no limit to the amount of eggs someone can buy. To get involved, go to https://visufund.com/each-virtual-easter-egg-hunt
