The AECOM 100 is an annual fundraising event for people from the construction and engineering industries that starts and finishes near the centre of Cambridge, also taking in Fulbourn, Balsham, Saffron Walden, Sandon, Ashwell, Shepreth, Haslingfield and everywhere else in between.
AECOM designs, builds, finances and operates infrastructure assets across the world. It has an office in Girton and uses its business acumen and industry networks to organise the charity bike ride. All participants are asked to donate a minimum of £16. En-route refreshments and a barbecue lunch are provided.
Matthew Palmer, AECOM Director, Building Engineering, said: “This year we had 180 participants and we’ve now raised over £7,700 for EACH in the past three years.”
Kellie Charge, EACH Cambridgeshire Corporate Fundraiser, said: “We’d like to say a massive thank you to AECOM for their continued support. We rely on voluntary donations for the majority of our income and need to generate more than £6 million a year from fundraising, so backing from the business community like this is vital.”
