At 8pm, after general business and standard AGM reporting has concluded, guests are invited to hear the two architects deliver a presentation entitled: ‘Climate change and retrofitting historic buildings’. This will focus on their most recent projects in the city; the refurbishment of Corfield Court and the Divinity School, both owned by St John’s College.
Oliver is a Cambridge-based architect and a member of the CambridgePPF Planning Committee. His experience spans many sectors including residential, pure conversion and major commercial refurbishments. Architecture runs in Oliver’s veins. His great-grandfather and father were both renowned professionals, and at the start of the year Oliver was appointed surveyor to St Paul’s Cathedral in London.
Peter also practices in Cambridge. His work embraces new build, creative adaptation and conservation. He has extensive experience across museums and visitor centres; performance, arts and education buildings; and retail, healthcare and residential projects.
Robin Pellew, Chairman of CambridgePPF, said: “We are delighted that Oliver and Peter have agreed to speak at this year’s AGM. Our annual meetings are always well attended and are a great opportunity for our members to find out about our achievements and what’s been happening at the charity in the last twelve months. Having two esteemed local architects speaking at such a spectacular location is bound to be a big draw and we hope many new people will be encouraged to come along to hear them speak and discover more about our work.”
The Cambridge Union Society was designed by Victorian architect Alfred Waterhouse – best known for the Natural History Museum in London and Manchester Town Hall.
The event is free of charge but donations are welcome. If you are planning to attend, please email: enquiries@cambridgeppf.org so the charity has an indication of numbers. Parking is available near to the venue at Park Street Car Park – which also offers covered cycle parking.
