Vice Chancellor, Professor Iain Martin, signed the pledge to demonstrate the commitment of Anglia Ruskin to the wellbeing of its staff.
Time to Change is a campaign led by Mind and Rethink Mental Illness. It encourages employers to show their commitment to their staff and make sure any employees suffering from mental health issues are supported.
Anglia Ruskin already runs workshops and surveys aimed at improving the wellbeing of its staff, and as part of the pledge has agreed to introduce several other measures including appointing a Wellbeing Steering Group made up of staff across the university, including senior managers and Deans of Faculties.
Human Resources policies are also being reviewed to ensure that all staff are well supported, and campaigns are being planned as well as additional information placed on Anglia Ruskin’s website.
Professor Iain Martin, Vice Chancellor of Anglia Ruskin University, said: “There are more than 1,700 staff working at Anglia Ruskin and all of them have a part to play in making us the successful and inclusive university that we are today.
“Their health and wellbeing is paramount. They work hard for Anglia Ruskin, and it is important that Anglia Ruskin works hard for them. I am pleased to be signing this pledge to ensure that all our staff are supported where necessary, and to show our commitment to the fight against stigma and discrimination surrounding mental health issues.”
