Anglia Ruskin backs Transatlantic Business Forum

Anglia Ruskin University's Lord Ashcroft International Business School is supporting the Transatlantic Business Forum 2014, taking place at the Imperial War Museum in Duxford on Tuesday 24 June, and featuring a speech from the US ambassador Matthew W Barzun.

The Forum is hosted by Deyton Bell, the economic, commercial and business development specialists, and will focus on supporting businesses interested in expanding their US activities, establishing a US base and stimulating successful transatlantic commercial activity.

The keynote speaker will be Matthew W Barzun, the United States' ambassador to the UK. Previously the US ambassador to Sweden, Ambassador Barzun is an internet pioneer who was the fourth employee at CNET Networks, where he worked from 1993-2004.

Chris Parkhouse, Managing Director of Deyton Bell and Visiting Fellow in International Business at Anglia Ruskin University, said: "The US and the UK share the world's largest direct investment partnership, with both countries being the largest investor in the other and the US remains Britain?s largest single export market.

"The UK and US have always enjoyed a 'special commercial relationship' but, in recent times, these familiar markets have often been ignored in favour of newly emerging opportunities elsewhere.

"The Forum will provide introductions to commercially useful contacts, will highlight support available on both sides of the Atlantic, will showcase best practice by exploring case study examples, will offer breakout seminars, will offer one-to-one meetings with speakers/supporters and will offer opportunities to network and develop business."

Anglia Ruskin's Lord Ashcroft International Business School has worked in partnership with Deyton Bell on several initiatives to promote business activity in Cambridge.

Professor Gary Packham, Acting Dean of the Lord Ashcroft International Business School, said: "The Forum represents a fantastic setting in which transatlantic activity and internationalisation can be encouraged and facilitated." *******
