Former students of Anglia Ruskin who have made a difference to their communities or who have achieved excellence in their chosen profession can be nominated by members of the general public as well as staff, students or graduates.
The categories for the Vice Chancellor’s Outstanding Alumni Awards 2016 include:
- Alumni Service to Society
- Alumni Entrepreneur of the Year
- Alumni Contribution to Culture
- Young Alumni of the Year (nominees must be under 35 on 31 October)
- Alumni Lifetime Achievement Award.
Professor Iain Martin, Vice Chancellor of Anglia Ruskin University, said: “Our students do not come to Anglia Ruskin simply for an education, but to gather the experiences and capabilities that will equip them for their next role, prepare them for a lifetime of future roles and, more broadly, to make an outstanding contribution to their communities.
“We are immensely proud of our alumni and all they have achieved. We want to celebrate those who have built on their experiences with us to make some extraordinary contributions to their communities and professional fields, and as such I am truly delighted to be launching these awards.
“I have no doubt at all that we will receive large numbers of very high-quality nominations, and I look forward to hearing of the success stories – there are a great many out there.”
Nominations must be received by 11.59pm on Friday, 21 October. The winners will receive their prize at a celebration event on Wednesday, 7 December, hosted by BBC television presenter and Anglia Ruskin lecturer, Ben Garrod, who is also an alumnus.
