Twelve teams have come together to take part in the 2015 Accumulator Challenge, with each aiming to use £50 to raise as much as possible for the Charity. You are invited to apply too....do you, your staff and/or your colleagues have what it takes to tackle The Accumulator Challenge?!
The initiative, supported by the Cambridge News encourages local people or businesses to use £50 to raise as much as possible for the Charity. Over the past three years, 67 teams have taken part and an incredible £52,112 has been raised by teams who used simple ideas to grow their initial loan. Some teams held one big fundraiser where as others proved more strategic and chose to hold smaller activities continually reinvesting the money.

As a further boost to the initiative, ARM has, once again, very kindly donated the initial loan to help kickstart the challenge. Simon Humphrey, Corporate Responsibility Manager from ARM, is encouraging teams to come up with innovative fundraising ideas to maximise their £50 and make the biggest impact they can. Simon adds, “The Arthur Rank Hospice Accumulator Challenge is a fantastically creative way of raising money and ARM is extremely happy to once again support it as we celebrate our 25th anniversary. It’s great for ARM to be involved and see how the teams are deploying all sorts of creativity to turn their £50 seed money into a much bigger sum that can really makes difference to the hospice. Good luck to all the teams taking part this year, I look forward to finding out how much we can all raise for this much valued cause.”
The money made will help towards raising the £2 million required each year which enables the charity to support the work of the Hospice and continue to funds vital services for people across Cambridge, completely free of charge. Lynn Morgan, Chief Executive of Arthur Rank Hospice Charity, comments: "Cambridge is known for its entrepreneurial spirit, it is one of the things we do best. This is a chance for businesses, schools, sixth forms and clubs to put their ability to generate income from some seed corn funding, to help us fund excellent end-of-life care. It is a great way for organisations to show off their talents and their flare."
