As one of the largest providers of Nursing, Midwifery, and Allied Health courses in the country, ARU has seen strong interest in these degrees since the COVID-19 pandemic hit the UK earlier this year.
People getting their A-Level grades on Thursday are being urged to take their time and pick the best option for them. Although ARU’s campuses are currently closed to visitors due to the global pandemic, advisors will be manning socially-distanced clearing call centres in Cambridge and Chelmsford during Clearing, which officially began on 1 July but is busiest on the 13 August and the following days.
ARU is offering guaranteed accommodation to all full-time undergraduate students in Cambridge and Chelmsford starting in September.
Professor Aletta Norval, Deputy Vice Chancellor at ARU (pictured), said: “We’re delighted to have been allocated extra student places for some of our health courses, meaning we can make an even bigger contribution to addressing the healthcare needs of the region and beyond.
“People apply through Clearing for a number of reasons, they may have made a late decision to come to university, or they may have decided not to go through UCAS. They may have changed their mind about what they want to study.
“What is clear is that there are options to suit everyone, and ARU staff are available to speak about what might be the best way forward for you.”
