Because you're worth it

Just for you, a Christmas present of a blog, but with a very important message…

Simon Hall writes:

Of all my ramblings and rantings this year, what I’m about to write is perhaps the most important.

It’s simple, but heartfelt, and absolutely critical…

And it’s this:

   - It’s time for a break

We’ve had a hell of a few years, to say the least.

Some of my fellow writers have been busy chronicling their stories of the C word.

Personally, I'll be glad if I never have to mention it again.

But we all know what I’m talking about, and it’s made for a traumatic time.

I still sometimes feel the after-effects, and I know many others do as well.

Well, the moment has come to try to put that behind us, with some meaningful rest and recuperation this (hopefully C-free) Christmas.

I’ve been in Oxford for a few days, teaching communication skills at the second best university in the world, above.

(They love it when I describe the place that way!)

But seriously, it’s a wonderful university and city, and rather than just work there…

I built in some time to see the sights and unwind.

As you can tell…

There are plenty of sights to see…

Without being gloomy at this cheery time of year…

The next 12 months look like being challenging in many ways.

Which only makes it more critical to get a proper break now and be ready.

Because, as the title of this blog says:

   - You're worth it

So, please forgive me if this is my last blog of 2022

I’m going to practice what I preach, and take some time to myself.

I have a wonderful new book to work on, probably the most important I've ever written.

Plenty of thinking and feeling, exercising and unwinding, celebrating and appreciating to do.

And, perhaps most excitingly of all, new horizons to explore.

So thanks for your time this year reading my musings.

I'll look forward to bringing you more insights and adventures in 2023.

Most importantly of all:

Have a great Christmas, recharge and renew, and here’s to a kind and prosperous New Year for us all.
