The company writes:
We are reaching out to you as your Regional Security Specialist Business.
It’s not scare mongering, it’s a genuine problem.
From our point of view, being security specialists, it’s what we deal with as a business. However we are no good to anyone if there is not enough awareness of the current situation. We are therefore, pro-actively reaching out to you as someone we would be keen to work with, and as a minimum make you aware of what’s going on so you can take appropriate action if needed.
We take our advice from the NCSC (the Government's National Cyber Security Centre) and the global security equipment manufacturers that we partner with. Very recently, the NCSC released an urgent communication via the DFE (Department for Education), making the schools aware of the problem and asking them to respond. They have also released a guide in an effort to help small businesses.
Recent world-wide events have not only changed the way we live socially, but has created this threat. A big part of crime these days happens online. Everything from phishing and other financial scams, identity fraud, encrypting your data and demanding ransoms etc.
You can never guarantee that you are completely safe and it’s a fire fighting exercise trying to stay ahead of the attackers.
However, there are some basics that you need to keep you safe. The information below will help cover the basics.
