This £28m deal is the latest move in the Council’s ongoing strategy to broaden its investment portfolio in order to generate the revenue that will enhance the much needed front line services operating for the people of Cambridgeshire. This latest property investment acquisition is set to give the Council a good rate of return in line with its investment objectives.
The deal was led by Dwight Patten (Legal Director, Commercial Property) with support from Charmaine Rolfe, Ryan Bigland, Cara Keen, Caragh Hargreaves and Cameron Barlow (Commercial Property), Tim Hall and Sophie Thornley (Construction), Ros Nuttall (Planning), Andrew Rush (Public Sector) and Karl Pocock and Ben Clarke (Tax).
Tom Kelly, Head of Finance at Cambridgeshire County Council commented: “We turned to Birketts to work with us on another important investment acquisition transaction and have been very impressed and pleased with the quality, focus and commitment of the legal team.”
