Birketts continues to build its property practice

Samantha Butler has moved from a London firm to join Birketts’ expanding property team in Chelmsford.

Samantha joins the firm as a legal executive and brings considerable real estate experience in both conveyancing and development.

Commenting on her appointment, Samantha said: “The property group at Birketts has built a first-rate reputation nationally. I’m very much looking forward to being part of the residential team working alongside David Habbershaw, Terry Ford, Lynette Lawrence, Suzanne Bradbury, Louise Langley and the rest of the team. Birketts is the only top 100 law firm in Essex and the Chelmsford team has been at the forefront of some very exciting projects recently, such as Essex County Cricket Club’s redevelopment of the ground.”

David Habbershaw, head of the residential property team in Chelmsford added: “As well as working in the shared ownership team of a City-based law firm, Samantha brings direct experience of the property sector. She previously worked for the in-house legal department of a well-known Essex-based property developer for six years and offers some interesting insight. We’ve seen a growing number of instructions recently and it was essential that we recruited someone with the right experience to service our clients’ needs.”
