The ALA Fellowship examination requires expertise in a whole range of legal and other issues that are particularly relevant to agriculture and rural businesses from taxation to trusts and farming business structures, as well as property.
Jack Royall, Partner and Head of Birketts' Agriculture and Estates Team, commented: “This is a great achievement by Ed and Leo, who both advise a wide range of agricultural and farming clients in the region, and we offer our congratulations. It’s a challenging course that requires a high level of knowledge across all aspects of agricultural law and they join Birketts’ lawyers Sophia Key, Annabelle Rout and Rachel McKillop-Wilkin as Fellows at the ALA.
“The agricultural community is a crucial sector for the firm and having a group of lawyers who have achieved Fellowship status stands us in good stead to continue serving our clients to the high standards they rightly expect."
The ALA is a UK-wide forum for not only the legal profession but also accountants, land agents, surveyors and others to share learnings and experience in relation to rural matters.
