Birketts has a really cheesy night

The Birketts’ 150th cheese tasting event was a great success, with 30 local professionals attending the event, raising £247.81 for St Elizabeth Hospice.

Neal Gordon from Memorable Cheeses brought cheese for everyone’s tastes from the mild Ducketts Caerphilly to the stinky Picos de Europa to the Gjetost – the bizarre cheese which looks and tastes like fudge!

Birketts says: "We have received numerous emails from the attendees to say what an enjoyable evening they had. The raffle was also a great success, with Kim Hinton from Haven Power Limited winning the wonderful cheese and wine hamper.

"Many thanks to all who supported this event."
