Last week saw The Eastern Enterprise Hub, in collaboration with Shark Infested Custard, run the first Games Hub session at the University of Essex. The course will cover the key pillars of development, including programming, design, art and production. Upon conclusion of the course, which free to applicants, the teams will be able to show their game to invited media, funders and publishers with the aim of getting investment to take the game to market. The Games Hub is run in collaboration with Birketts, BDO, Essex County Council and Colchester Borough.
Simon Mead, CEO at the Eastern Enterprise Hub said: “With more and more people wanting to work in the game design and interactive entertainment industries in Essex, the EEHub - in collaboration with a number of organisations in the area - sees this new programme as a way to develop new business.”
Jolyon Berry and Quentin Golder, both partners at Birketts have been invited to speak to the group about setting up a business, intellectual property and all the practicalities they need to know.
