Birketts secures two KFC stores for J&J Restaurants Ltd.

Birketts has advised J&J Restaurants Ltd. on the purchase of two KFC restaurants in Essex: 10 High Street, Colchester and the Clock House, Broomfield Road, Chelmsford. The deal value was not disclosed.

J&J Restaurants Ltd already operates multiple KFC stores throughout the region via a subsidiary company – Kefco Sales Ltd. Plans to open a further four outlets in the same area over the next three years have also been announced with Kefco Sales Ltd entering into a development agreement with KFC GB.

Top 100 law firm Birketts advised on all legal matters with Ed Savory, Legal Director and Head of Franchising, leading the transaction with overall responsibility resting with Adam Jones (Partner, Corporate) and assistance provided by Matthew Grindley (Senior Associate, Commercial Property) and Stephanie Ayre (Solicitor, Corporate).
