Sponsored by M7 Real Estate, this event sees property professionals from across the country compete to log the most steps during the month of October, with friends and colleagues sponsoring their efforts.
Taking part this year are Ryan Bigland, Cameron Barlow, Emily Seago, Catherine Halton-Farrow, Cara Keen, Laura Jones, Lucy Broad and Steve Bell from Birketts’ Norwich office. The challenge is run through an online platform called Himotiv which syncs with each participant’s fitness tracker or smartphone to monitor their steps. Each week, leader-boards will be published to encourage competition across the property sector. Challenges can also be set between individuals, giving staff that little extra incentive to take the stairs, go for a lunchtime walk or swap short bus or car journeys for a stroll.
The event kicks off on LandAid Day (1 October 2019) with this year’s theme, “Around the World,” inspired by last year’s step total, when competitors logged enough footsteps to walk around the world three and a half times. On LandAid Day, companies are asked to develop innovative fundraising challenges and activities to raise money for this excellent cause.
Headline sponsor, M7 Real Estate, began its relationship with LandAid in 2016, offering their support through sponsorship, participation and donations. The leading multi-let real estate specialist has encouraged individuals from across the industry to get behind the initiative to help raise the vital funds that will go towards safe accommodation, practical support and financial grants that will bring independence and stability in to the lives of young people who would otherwise face homelessness.
Ryan Bigland, Associate in the Commercial Property team commented: “This is first and foremost a worthy cause that we are very proud to bring attention to and to help support. This challenge is also a wonderful way to bring together professionals across the property sector and a fantastic way to motivate everybody to get moving!”
