Blendology wins Most Promising Start-up 2012 after giving their ‘pitch’ in front of a Dragon’s Den style panel of leading investor judges at this year’s Technology Venture Conference (TVC 2012).

Blendology’s ‘tap-to-connect’ interactive event solutions selected by panel of leading investor judges

At this year’s Technology Venture Conference (TVC 2012) - which took place on Friday 22nd June and organised by Cambridge University Technology and Enterprise Club (CUTEC) - Blendology was first selected among 17 showcase companies as a top 5 finalist by conference attendees, then went on to ‘pitch’ in front of a Dragon’s Den style panel of leading investor judges.

Bill Munday, CEO of Blendology, gave a compelling three minute pitch where he presented the Company’s solutions, multi-billion dollar target markets, commercial traction and the Company’s funding requirements. The pitch was concluded with a brief but engaging question and answer exchange between Munday and the investors.

“The Technology Start-up Showcase is an essential part of TVC each year as it provides an opportunity for young and fresh companies to demonstrate their new and exciting technologies to conference attendees from the global investment, corporate and academic communities,” stated Marta Lapsley, VP of Content for CUTEC and responsible for the Technology Showcase. “This year, we selected 17 of the most promising young technology companies to participate in the Technology Showcase and compete for the coveted ‘Most Promising Start-up’ award and significant prize package.”

“We were very pleased to be selected to exhibit in the Technology Start-up Showcase at TVC,” stated Bill Munday, CEO of Blendology. “We had great interest in our ‘tap-to-connect’ devices and solutions and we also gained valuable feedback from all those who stopped by our stand. We are very excited about our interactive event solutions and confident in the future success of Blendology, but we really did not expect to win the competition and receive such a grand prize.”

Lapsley added, “The Technology Start-up Showcase competition was taken to new levels this year with Blendology’s PROJOinteractive delegate badges. The voting process was made fun and engaging with attendees voting for their favourite Showcase company just by tapping their PROJO badges on ‘tap points’. The ‘tap points’ ensured the integrity of the voting process by disallowing duplicate voting, and streamlined the whole process of counting the votes of the 400 attendees and tallying the winners to just minutes.”

Blendology’s prize award for  ‘Most Promising Start-up 2012’ includes: £10K worth of consultancy from KPMG, £3K worth of legal advice from SNR Denton, Mentorship with Springboard founder Jon Bradford, six month free membership at ideaSpace, Cambridge, one year free access to Zip Cars, and a crystal globe trophy.
