Blue Scientific are bringing O-PTIR to the UK, following a new partnership with Photothermal Spectroscopy Corp as their official distributor in the UK, Ireland and Nordic region. The mIRage IR microscope breaks the IR diffraction limit and overcomes the greatest limitations of IR spectroscopy.
mIRage IR Microscope
The Photothermal mIRage changes the field of IR spectroscopy by overcoming its two greatest problems: poor resolution and demanding sample preparation. It bridges the gap between conventional IR micro-spectroscopy and nanoscale IR spectroscopy:
- Sub-micron spatial resolution
- Reflection mode measurements on thick samples
- None of the contact limitations of ATR
- No dispersive artifacts
20x Higher Resolution
Perform IR imaging and spectroscopy with a spatial resolution improvement of over 20x. Photothermal IR spectroscopy (PTIR) delivers transmission quality FTIR spectra, even in reflection mode.
Easier Sample Preparation
Another main issue with IR microscopy is the inability to analyse thick samples. Sample preparation is much simpler with O-PTIR - thick samples can be measured, and there are none of the contact limitations of ATR. As well as saving time, this also opens up a whole range of new applications.
Overcome the IR Diffraction Limit
mIRage breaks the IR diffraction limit, using a pulsed, tunable laser with a proprietary optical technique that measures the sample’s photothermal response. It's fast, easy to use and results can be correlated to industry standard FTIR databases.
Applications
- Polymeric & non-polymeric materials
- Multi-layer films
- Life science
- Pharmaceuticals
- Forensics
- Micro-electronics contamination
