“There is a growing demand for ISO22301 and business continuity management systems services,
and Tony will help us meet our clients’ requirements. He is a valued addition to our talented IT Governance Consulting team, which comprises a wealth of IT-GRC skills” adds Calder.
Tony Drewitt has been a practising business continuity consultant, trainer and technical expert since 2001. Before becoming a full-time consultant, he held a number of technical, commercial and senior management positions, whilst also being a professional member of the Business Continuity Institute.
Tony said, “I have been working with IT Governance on various projects for the past few years – these included delivering business continuity training, writing books on the subject and providing technical expertise for certification services. I am delighted to have the opportunity to contribute to IT Governance’s growing business continuity management consultancy services.”
ISO/IEC 22301:2012 was published in May 2012 and replaces the BS25999 standard. Implementation of the ISO22301 standard will help companies deal with natural disasters and other unforeseen events, enabling them to go back to ‘business as usual’ quickly, bringing financial loss to a minimum.
ISO22301 implementation and certification brings considerable business benefits. Certified companies increase their competitive advantage and enhance their reputation by demonstrating to their clients, and other stakeholders, that their business will not be affected by unforeseen events. ISO22301 certification helps comply with mandatory legal and regulatory requirements as well as any requirements imposed by clients to tender for a job.
Furthermore, ISO22301 can be aligned and integrated with ISO9001, ISO27001, ISO14001, ISO20000 and ISO28000 management standards to deliver more significant benefits.
