The STTI is a not-for-profit organisation of more than 125,000 nurses who lead in using knowledge, scholarship and learning to improve the health of people around the world. Its mission is to support the learning, knowledge and professional development of nurses committed to making a difference.
Nurses from across the UK and the rest of the world will be invited to Anglia Ruskin’s Cambridge campus, making use of its state-of-the-art facilities. Anglia Ruskin students will be encouraged to attend and participate in the event.
The theme of the conference has yet to be confirmed, but a proposal has been made for creating an evidence base to inform high-quality nursing practice. Anglia Ruskin’s successful bid was announced today at the current STTI conference taking place in Utrecht, in the Netherlands. Previous conferences have been held in Cardiff and Gothenburg.
Dr Leslie Gelling, Reader in Nursing at Anglia Ruskin, said: “As the largest provider of nursing education in the East of England, it is a real coup for Anglia Ruskin to be hosting such a prestigious event. We are delighted that the panel has chosen Cambridge as the backdrop for this important international conference.
“The event will provide an opportunity for a wide range of nurses, including many from Anglia Ruskin, to participate in discussions about the future of nursing and the wider provision of health care.
“Our students will have an opportunity to hear nurse leaders presenting their research and debating important health issues.”
Anglia Ruskin will be hosting the conference in partnership with the English Chapter of STTI.
