Cambridge Legal Walk 2013 takes place next month

The third Cambridge Legal Walk is taking place on Thursday 13 June 2013, led by Her Honour Judge Lindsay Davies. The walk will start near Parker's Piece and will finish at the Mill on the banks of the Cam.

Sponsored by The Law Society and Mills & Reeve and benefiting from the active support of all branches of the legal profession, the event is a 10km "after work" sponsored walk around Cambridge, taking in many of the city’s most beautiful and historic landmarks.

Teams of walkers from the courts, law firms, barristers’ chambers, in-house legal departments and advice agencies will be “Walking for Justice”, raising funds for advice agencies who provide free legal advice and assistance to people in desperate need. This is against a backdrop of cuts to legal aid.

The walk is being organised by the Eastern Legal Support Trust (ELST), one of seven legal support trusts, and is one of a series of walks held annually across England and Wales. Total funds raised by the seven regional legal support trusts in 2012 were in excess of £600,000.

There are further details of the 2013 walks across the country, including registration details on ELST's website: www.elst.org.uk/cambridge
