Cambridge residents encouraged to complete Census 2021

Councillor Lewis Herbert, Leader of Cambridge City Council, is urging residents to complete the Government Census form this weekend.

All households should complete the census this Sunday 21 March (or as soon as possible after) and will have received a letter providing a household access code so that a form can be submitted online. Answers are confidential and protected by law.

The census is a survey that happens every 10 years, providing a picture of all the people and households in England and Wales. Local authorities and charities use the information to understand the need for local services including transport, education and healthcare.

Lewis Herbert says: "We are urging people to complete the census, including over the next fortnight to maximise its accuracy, and to benefit our city and our people.

"People are already responding in large numbers and will be counted on or about this Sunday.  But a significant number of usual residents will not be in or be returning soon to Cambridge so will not be counted.  We are asking people to register their Cambridge residence, even if they are currently out of town."
