CambridgeIP sponsors Cambridge University Entrepreneurs competition

CambridgeIP’s Chairman, Quentin Tannock, presented prizes and certificates to winners and runners-up in the Cambridge University Entrepreneurs (CUE) 2012 competition.

CambridgeIP’s sponsorship to CUE includes annual BolivenPRO subscriptions for competition winners together with a range of support services designed to accelerate technology development and deployment by CUE members.

The CUE business plan competition is one of the most successful business creation competitions in the world. In the ‘1k challenge’ phase of the competition teams of students from Cambridge University deliver business pitches and poster presentations.

Quentin Tannock (Chairman) explained the reasons for CambridgeIP's support to Cambridge University Entrepreneurs: “CambridgeIP has assisted clients accelerate the development and deployment of technologies across the full spectrum of technology maturity.

"As a Cambridge company with a very close relationship with Cambridge University and its students, we are delighted to support Cambridge University Entrepreneurs (CUE) in their mission, by giving competition participants access to our knowledge, tools, training and strategic support under our Outreach Programme”.

Quentin went on to say that “Participants in the 1K challenge phase of the competition this year presented a set of extremely innovative technology solutions spanning a very wide range of disciplines including financial services, genetics, graphene, nanopores, online training, solar PV, stem cells, video search, voice to computer interfaces and wind turbines. Many of these solutions look set to mature into exciting business propositions”.

The support provided by CambridgeIP to CUE is part of CambridgeIP’s Outreach Programme, which accelerates the development of the businesses and technologies of tomorrow. CambridgeIP's CEO explained the objectives of the programme:  "The CambridgeIP Outreach Programme provides access to advanced technology intelligence tools, supports the early adoption of sound IP strategies and accelerates the growth of ideas.
