Change of leadership at PEM Corporate Finance

Philip Olagunju is now head of Corporate Finance at PEM, succeeding Lake Falconer who has spent almost two decades in the role. Lake Falconer founded PEM Corporate Finance in 2004 and today the firm is established as one of the leading corporate finance practices in the East of England, working with owner-managed businesses from a wide variety of industry sectors.

Philip Olagunju and Lake Falconer, both of PEM Corporate Finance LLP

Philip, the 2021 Insider Central and East of England Dealmaker of the Year, has nearly 20 years’ experience advising entrepreneurial mid-market businesses on company sales, acquisitions, valuations, strategic reviews, and fundraising projects. He joined PEM Corporate Finance as assistant director in 2017.

Marking this milestone, Philip said:

“I feel very blessed to be given the opportunity to lead PEM Corporate Finance. Cambridge is a great place to operate from and the superb clients we work with means it’s a very exciting time for our talented team. In addition, we’re looking to make several strategic hires into our award-winning team over the next few years, which will mean that we are robustly positioned to continue to flourish in future. I look forward to, and am excited by, the journey ahead for us.”

Lake Falconer will continue focusing on what he enjoys and does best – working with business owners to achieve their goals and leading M&A, buyout and business valuation assignments. He added:

“It has been a great privilege establishing and leading PEM Corporate Finance since 2004. We have worked on many significant transactions over the years, more recently completing the sales of X-on, Cambridge Bioscience, Young Calibration, and the MBO of Titan. Phil will lead a fantastic and dynamic team working on deals to be very proud of and I firmly believe that he will take the business from strength to strength in the years ahead.”
