It follows a competition, run by Hadleigh Maid, for schoolchildren to design the front of the box, won by Olivia Howieson, who attends Bildeston Primary School.
Her creation was chosen out of more than 200 entries for being “cheerful and bright, bringing colourful rainbow rays of chocolate joy over the top of two children holding hands below a glowing and optimistic sun, which all seemed very appropriate for the EACH cause”.
The release of the box marks almost a year since Hadleigh Maid began supporting EACH and 10% of all sales of its new 112g chocolate selection box will be donated to the charity, helping it to continue providing care for children and young people with life-threatening conditions, and support for their families.
Graham Butland, who retired as EACH Chief Executive at the end of last week, was given a tour of the Suffolk chocolatier’s factory on Tuesday (29 October) ahead of the box’s release.
Graham said: “It was fascinating and, as I can testify to from personal experience, the chocolates are fantastic. Thanks to Olivia for taking part and congratulations to her on winning. Thanks also, of course, to the folks at Hadleigh Maid for their continued support.”
Gavin Bowie, Hadleigh Maid Marketing Director, said: “We’re delighted to celebrate our first anniversary of working with EACH by launching these gorgeous chocolate selection boxes to further raise awareness and promote our partnership. Olivia’s competition winning design is just so appropriate and looks wonderful as a design. We’re so proud to be part of this fundraising initiative and one of EACH’s fundraising partners, so please enjoy our chocolates whilst donating monies to such a deserving cause.”
The box is £6.99 and can be bought online at https://hadleighmaid.com/ as well as in selected stores. There is a 100g vegan version available, too, at the same price.
Hadleigh Maid has also started a promotion whereby customers can receive 10% off products, including the selection boxes, by inputting the code EACH10 when they order. This runs until Thursday, 19 December.
